Hance’s Uptown Collision has been in business in Dallas for a long time and are happy to be your local auto body repair specialists. We get a lot of questions from our valued customers about our auto body repair process and what to expect. Check them out here and then get in touch if you have any other questions for us.
Q: Is it easy to bring my car in for autobody repair?
A: You bet! Thanks to our seven-step collision repair process, we will have you in and out in no time. We know you can’t be without transportation for long, so we do our best to make the process as efficient and smooth as possible. From vehicle drop-off and check-in to body repair and paint refinishing, we do it all.
Q: Do you use aftermarket parts to repair my car?
Your insurance company will typically be the deciding factor in which parts we will use to fix your vehicle. If they ask us to use an aftermarket or used part, we will attempt this option first. However, if the part requested by your insurance carrier fails to meet our quality standards, we will request the insurance company pay us to utilize the correct part.
Q: Can you fix unrelated damage while my vehicle is at your shop?
A: We can give you an estimate on the cost to repair unrelated damage. Just let us know of this at the time of vehicle drop off.
Q: How long will my car be in the shop?
A: This is impossible to tell until our specialists have looked over the car and assessed our job schedule at the moment. In most cases, it only takes a few days, but in other cases, it could take longer. We will give you an estimated time frame once we have been able to look over the car fully.
Keep in mind, often times your car has to be disassembled, fixed, painted and reassembled, and this is a time consuming, precise process that’s akin to surgery. Modern cars are complicated and complex, so sometimes reassembly will take longer than expected. We don’t want you to have to come back for more work due to human error and rushing. We will also give you a call to let you know when we’re almost finished.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment for an autobody repair estimate?
Q: Will you inform me of the necessary repairs before you start?
A: Yes. Once you drop your vehicle off, we will disassemble the damaged areas thoroughly. We will give you an itemized list and estimate for the job but will not begin work until we have authorization from you as well as your insurance company.
Q: Will my car be secure on site while it’s undergoing repairs?
A: Yes, we take security very seriously and keep as many vehicles as we can inside the shop during the repair process. If we have to bring the car outside during the day, we will make all efforts to bring it in for the night.
Q: Can I keep old parts from my vehicle?
A: Yes. Please tell us your wishes at the start of the auto body repair process so we save any salvageable parts.
Q: Do you help with the insurance claims process?
A: Yes. We assist with insurance claims processing and are here to work for YOU, not the insurance carrier. That means we work in your best interests. Do not skip important steps or quality parts to save money or to appease the insurance company. This compromises your family’s safety. Instead, let us handle the process and ensure you get the most coverage possible.
Q: Do you offer a warranty?
A: Yes, we offer a lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials.
Q: Do I give the check I receive from the insurance company to you or do I keep it?
A: If your insurance company has already provided an estimate, that will used as the basis for repairs. If they have sent you a payment, that and the deductible will be paid to the shop upon completion of auto body repairs. In the case of additional charges necessary to complete repairs, we will handle this situation with your insurance carrier directly.
